Our role

Technical Coordinator

We lead the technical work of the consortium — architecting the AI-boosted democracy platform, its argumentation knowledge graphs and NLP pipeline. ORBIS is where our deliberative AI research meets citizens, and it feeds directly into dlbrt.

Impact and outcomes

  • Validated the deliberation approach that now powers dlbrt., our production offering
  • Presented findings at the Athens Democracy Forum, in partnership with the New York Times
  • Argumentation graph model validated across pilot deliberations run with partner institutions
  • Technical architecture and lessons transferred directly into the production platform

The challenge

Public opinion is everywhere. Structure is nowhere. Institutions generate thousands of comments through consultations and forums every year, yet rarely synthesise this input into actionable intelligence — citizens feel unheard while policymakers struggle to identify meaningful signals within the noise.

Our approach

We developed an argumentation graph model as the knowledge representation foundation — a system that automatically extracts claims, evidence and relationships from unstructured text via NLP. Our technical coordination connected extraction models, visualisation layers and citizen interfaces into a single operational pipeline, managing three consortium review cycles along the way.
