We built the platform's data content management layer, which homogenises data from every vertical solution into a unified model using NGSI-LD and the Pleione ontology to create a shared knowledge base. We also contributed ecosystem dashboards and scenario simulation, and led the project's feasibility, sustainability and exploitation study.
City data and services sit in vertical silos across legacy systems, IoT devices, web applications and open data, so no one has a complete, real-time picture of the city. This makes it hard for municipalities, businesses and citizens to turn data into better decisions and new services. It also slows the digital transformation of Greek industry and cities.
Pleione built an open-source horizontal IoT platform on FIWARE and European smart-city standards that collects, normalises and analyses city data through standard APIs. Eight vertical solutions connect to it, including remote patient monitoring, a smart and green museum, environmental monitoring, drone inspections and smart facility management, alongside an IoT data marketplace. Our semantic data layer makes their data interoperable and reusable across the ecosystem.
